Piloting an actor
Master sequencer to which you add other sequences as shots
Focus modes of cine camera
Focus debug plane for a cine camera, really cool
Time dilation track (compared to adjusting the play rate of an animation in its context menus properties)
Add the post-process volume to the sequencer (color grading, vignetting, chromatic abberations, etc.). You can also do the same shit directly on a camera.
Possessable vs spawnable actor
Movie Render Queue: {shot_name}.{frame_number} for “File Output” → “File Format”
Keep Playhead in playback range whilst scrubbing is a nifty option to have enabled (in the cog with a triangle button, next to the eye button)
In the Snapping menu, enable also Snap to keys while scrubbing (it will snap to the keyframes of the selected actor while scrubbing)
Isolate a track, in UE 5.5 is very handy
Use the Filter to manage complex sequences
In the cog menu (below the main buttons like the eye and the cog+triangle, in other words at the same level as the filter option), add the filter bar
In 5.5, right-click → properties are now dockable, similar to Blender’s N menu.
- For example, you can easily adjust the play rate to slow down an animation
You can drag and drop your level sequence in the scene! This way, you can select the gizmo in the scene and click on the “Open Level Sequence” button.
To rotate a camera around an object: add an empty actor, drag and drop the camera on that empty actor (make sure the camera does not have any keyframes in the sequencer)! Now if you rotate the empty actor, the camera will rotate.
Voici un exemple d’animation de type assemblage sympa:
